Friday the 13th Reboot Delayed
Paramount has pushed the new Friday the 13th reboot from May 13, 2016, to January 13, 2017, which just so happens to fall on a Friday. This is actually the third delay for the horror reboot, which was originally slated for March 13, 2015.
It is set to be the 13th installment in the franchise and will be directed by David Bruckner. After being asked whether the new film will be a sequel to the 2009 remake, screenwriter Nick Antosca announced the film won’t be, but will take place in a “different time and style.” Antosca also tweeted out a picture of several machetes, hinting at a new version of Jason’s signature weapon.
Little has been given away about the story line other than being told we should expect a more in-depth explanation regarding what Jason exactly is, and how he seems to defy all odds and keeps coming back to life. Many speculate it will have a supernatural reasoning based on the lake Jason was drowned in.
What are you hoping to see in the new installment?
