Four new Walking Dead series regulars
The Walking Dead has left a gaping hole in my Sunday nights since the finale of season 6, which I’ve still not gotten over.
We are now on the slow approach to season 7, which has been filled with rumours and teases so far, and now we’ve been treated to the news that four cast members have been promoted to series regulars.
The four in question are Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Austin Amelio, Tom Payne, and Xander Berkeley. Morgan plays the terrifyingly pants wetting, Negan, with Amelio his little sidekick playing Dwight. Payne plays the Houdini ‘can get out of any ropes’ ally to Rick, Jesus. Finally, Berkeley is, of course, the arrogant leader of the Hilltop, Gregory, who we all kinda hoped was dead.
This will be nothing new to the comic readers, who would be expecting these characters to stay on due to having such influential roles in the comics. In fact, they are all currently still alive and kicking within the books, except Gregory thanks to small mercies.
This makes the 16 season regulars now bump up to a healthy 20 which we all know is a number that will drop by one after the premiere this coming October.
Yes, remember the whole bashed head thing? Lucille? Yes, well that outcome is fast approaching guys, so prepare your butts and pray it’s not your series favourite that gets their melon whacked.
A new trailer will also be released at San Diego Comic Con on July 22, so get ready fast.
