‘Dead Rising: Endgame’ Begins Production
Dead Rising: Endgame, the sequel to the first Dead Rising film, has entered production and the cast have been revealed.
Endgame begins in the “zombie-infested quarantine zone of East Mission City” with investigative reporter Chase Carter. The film will follow Carter as he attempts to stop the government’s “secret conspiracy,” which is threatening to kill millions of innocent people.
Jesse Metcalfe will return as Carter, and will be joined by Dennis Haysbert (24) and Keegan Connor Tracey, who’ll reprise their original roles. Patrick Sabongui will also return to a new role. Sabongui will play a “skilled zombie killer and video game aficionado.” Billy Zane will play Rand—a “handsome” and “cruel” scientist hired by the government to cure the zombie outbreak. Marie Avgeropoulos (The 100) will star as Sandra Lowe, “a skilled computer hacker” who happens to be Carter’s on-and-off girlfriend.
The cast will also be joined by Jessica Harmon of iZombie playing Jill, a news reporter who joins the zombie-fighting crew. Chuck Greene—the game’s protagonist—will make an appearance in Dead Rising: Endgame, played by Victor Webster (Continuum).
Directed by Pat Williams, Dead Rising: Endgame is expected to release in summer 2016 via online distribution service Crackle.
