Black Woods at Sundown
Black Woods at Sundown is a dark and surreal story, which follows a young girl whose idyllic summer’s day becomes a horrific nightmare.
Directed by Tom Oliver and produced by Elisha Enfield, Black Woods at Sundown was part of the official selection at Cinecity Film Festival 2015.
Synopsis: Independent film company Midnight Movies pay homage to 1960s gothic fantasy as well as Italian and Japanese horror with their third and latest short film, BLACK WOODS AT SUNDOWN. This cautionary tale tells of how a dismaying encounter leads to a psychedelic and nightmarish turn on a young girl’s serene summer day. Filmed across two days in the Sussex countryside and produced on a micro-budget, Black Woods at Sundown displays a surrealistic narrative with sleek cinematography in a distinctive horror tale that plays like Suspiria meets Under the Skin.
