American Horror Story Season 6 – What Do We Know?

Usually, by this time in the year, we would slowly be consuming numerous tidbits of information and re-running several teaser trailers about the upcoming season. However, Ryan Murphy and the FOX Network are being very quiet. So, what do we already know about the upcoming season?

New Teaser Imagery

In late June the cryptic number 6 logo was leaked, later added to the show’s official social media channels. Apart from the season number it doesn’t reveal much about what’s in-store for fans.

Ryan Murphy Hints Towards Something New

The creator of the show, Ryan Murphy, has been pretty quiet about the upcoming season. He did however, drop a couple of small hints at the Hotel Paleyfest panel, “We’ve been working on two ideas at once, which we’ve never done, so I don’t want to say what it is,” Murphy said at the time. “But…it will have a different form than we’ve ever done.” The innocence of children had also been mentioned.

The Following Cast Members Will Star

Here are the current cast confirmations for season 6: Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley, Angela Bassett, Denis O’Hare, Kathy Bates, Cheyenne Jackson, and Matt Bomer.

Whilst Sarah Paulson hasn’t confirmed a return to the show herself, it was Angela Bassett who said she would be working closely with her character. Lady Gaga is also set to return after being asked by Ryan Murphy, though it hasn’t been established if it will be a leading role or something smaller.

American Horror Story VR Experience

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) there was no panel for the show, FOX however, has been entertaining the shows fans with a whole new experience. The American Horror Story VR Experience has been wowing and scaring fans over the weekend. The experience sees you being seated on a bed, covered with a sheet and then the VR headset situated on your head.

Once settled (oh you!) you are then transported through VR to each of the five seasons already shown: Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show and finally Hotel. Through each of these small experiences, you are introduced to the killers and various familiar scenery before being killed. Sounds fun, right?

There aren’t any hints towards what the new season may contain or be based upon, at least no hints that anyone visiting the experience has been able to figure out. There’s death – but AHS always contain that!

The Air Date

Strangely the air date has already been announced. American Horror Story Season 6 will premiere on September 14 on FOX. We’re hoping that this whole waiting thing means that something special is on the horizon.
